    Electroforming is a well-established electrodeposition process for producing both simple and complex shaped articles to extremely close dimensional tolerances and to exacting surface requirements. The process is applicable to the production of not only small, thin-walled parts but also large objects of substantial cross-section. There are considerable data in the literature on mechanical properties of electroformed nickel at room temperature (1–4), but very little information is available on properties at elevated or subzero temperatures. The lack of such data has been a serious handicap to design engineers and electroformers. Consequently a research program was initiated to provide pertinent information for nickel deposited from a few typical but basically different plating baths, which are known to yield deposits of differing microstructures and mechanical properties at room temperature. The purpose of this paper is to present the information accumulated to date.
