A referee method has been developed for the sizing and counting of airborne particulate contamination in clean rooms and other dust-controlled areas. This tentative method parallels the newly published SAE ARP-743 procedure (1), giving rise to highly desirable industrial standardization. The new procedure is a clear restatement and further codification of the procedures which are in virtually universal application, with modifications, in this country and abroad.
