Refractive Index of Strontium Fluoride

Source

The refractive index, relative to air, of fusion-cast strontium fluoride was determined from 0.2138µm to 11.475µm by means of the minimum-deviation method. Measurements were made on a precision spectrometer at a controlled room temperature near 20 °C. The experimental data were fitted to a Sellmeier-type dispersion equation which permits refractive index interpolation within several parts in 10-5. The index of SrF2 is compared graphically with that of BaF2 and CaF2.
