Texture Measurement Techniques for Zircaloy Cladding: A Round-Robin Study

Source

A round-robin study of the texture of Zircaloy tubing was conducted. Experimental techniques and texture determination results from 14 independent laboratories are presented. Results are consistent and reproducible, as determined both qualitatively (pole figures) and quantitatively (f-parameters). It was concluded that reliable X-ray diffraction techniques exist which describe the texture and that results from the participating laboratories are comparable. A number of parameters which can affect texture results are also discussed.
