The ability to predict part-through crack behavior analytically based on compact specimen crack growth rate data is quantified by comparing analytical predictions of cyclic life under constant amplitude loading with laboratory test results. In three analytical exercises performed by ASTM Task Group E24.06.01, a total of 24 specimens included 2219-T851 aluminum, 6A1-4V-Ti, and 9Ni-4Co-0.20C steel.
