Chapter 4—The General Electric Company Surveillance Programs for Boiling Water Reactor Pressure Vessels

Source

At neutron (n) fluences above a threshhold level of approximately 1017 n/cm2, exposure to neutron radiation (>1 MeV) has been shown to have a measurable effect on the mechanical properties of ferritic steels such as the low-alloy steels used for fabrication of light-water reactor pressure vessels (RPV's).
