Chapter 1—Applications and Limitations of Cold Cleaning

Source

Cold cleaning with halogenated organic solvents and admixtures thereof is useful in applications where water is not desired, where the soils to be removed are of an oily or greasy nature, and where the surfaces will not be harmed by the chemicals used. It is frequently possible to clean complicated assembled equipment without dismantling because of the good wetting action of these solvents and because of their rapid evaporation rate after cleaning.
