This paper is an attempt to compare a set of experimental measurements on a panel with a symmetrically positioned cutout to values determined through a nonlinear finite element program. The comparison shows the sensitivity of the panel to a varying boundary condition produced by the restraints associated with the experimental structure. The finite element program used is STAGS C-1.
