Ground Rubber Tires in Asphalt-Concrete Mixtures — Three Case Histories

Source

Results are presented from three case histories in which ground rubber modification was used in the construction of asphalt concrete pavements. Material properties, performance, benefits, limitations, and costs are discussed for each project. The mixtures used in these projects cover crumb rubber modification of gap-graded aggregates, rubber modified binders, and the so-called generic crumb rubber mixtures. With some noteworthy exceptions, all the mixtures are performing well.
