Protective Clothing Standards Development in China

Source

In China, State Standards in the field of occupational safety and health are organized, dawn up and managed by the Bureau of Occupational Safety and Health Supervision under the Ministry of Labour. They are issued and supervised by the State Bureau of Technical Supervision. The Chinese National Standardizing Committee for Personal Protectors was organized in 1987 and is responsible for stipulating standard of personal protection. By the end of 1990, China had promulgated 144 State Standards for occupational safety and health, ten of which are related to body protection. China is keenly interested in cooperating and exchanging ideas with ISO TC 94, ASTM F-23 and other overseas counterparts to enhance the development of protective clothing and promote the safety for the Chinese people.
