Document Control and Chain-of-Custody Considerations for the National Contract Laboratory Program

Source

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Contract Laboratory Program (CLP) provides analytical services for investigations in support of the Superfund program. The work effort includes data generation used for preparation of enforcement cases. EPA has specified procedures for evidence handling that are used to enhance admissibility of data and to establish analytical integrity. The CLP has stringent requirements for document control and chain-of-custody and has established a system of audits to assure compliance with procedure.
