Using Total Monte Carlo to Calculate the Full Covariance Matrix of a Neutron Spectrum

Source

A new scheme is proposed for calculating the covariance matrix of an a priori neutron flux spectrum using the Total Monte Carlo method. This covariance matrix can be used to improve the adjustment of calculated spectra to dosimetry measurements in a more physically realistic way. We have taken an example experiment performed at the High Flux Reactor to successfully demonstrate the application of this covariance matrix to spectrum adjustment procedures using a modified J1 unfolding algorithm.
