Study on Effect of Processing on Texture Development in Zirconium-2.5 % Niobium Alloy Tubes

Source

In the present study, the effect of several processing steps like ingot working, hot extrusion, cold working, and thermo-mechanical treatment of Zr-2.5 wt. %Nb tube material on the texture evolution has been studied in the light of the microstructure developed during the different stages. The role of microstructure during the deformation on the texture development has been investigated in detail. By comparing the different processing methods, an understanding on the role of major processing steps has been developed. An explanation of the observed results of the texture and microstructure has been made by comparison to existing models.
