    Abstract

    The Reactor Measurement Systems Laboratory (LSMR) of the CEA/Cadarache, is specialized in the development, design, modeling and manufacturing of neutron detectors, especially miniature fission chambers.

    This laboratory can define the characteristics of the detector for any requirements : - type of chamber (cylindrical or plate), - diameter (1.5 mm, 4 mm, 8 mm, …), - nature of fissile product (uranium, plutonium, neptunium, curium,…), - mass of fissile product, and - nature and pressure of gas (argon, helium).

    The laboratory has also developed modeling codes and in particular, a new theoretical method to foresee the current-voltage characteristics of a chamber that operates in current mode (sensitivity, saturation plateau).
