Cornerstones for Future Directions in Head/Neck Injury Prevention in Sports

Much progress has been made in the last two decades in the effort to minimize serious head and neck injuries in football. More importantly, much has been transferred to the attentions given the threat of catastrophic injuries in other sports. Issues arise, however, as to the need for, and nature of, further attentions. It is timely for this forum to address and update for future collective attentions what is known and acceptable as to each cornerstone supporting these attentions -- Awareness, Mechanism, Guidelines & Standards, and Shared Responsibility expectations.
