Chapter 3 discusses aspects of combustion with and without an ignition source, and its relationship to flash point, flash point apparatus, and flash point test method. A general discussion on flash point apparatus and testing procedure is given. It also discusses two special situations encountered in flash point determination, namely film formation and flash point masking.
