    Abstract

This section primarily covers ASTM D1835 and other key ASTM standards that are commonly referred to by ASTM D1835. This standard defines critical properties of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) that must be evaluated. It recommends limits on the LPG's physical and chemical properties to ensure the product is marketable and that it will perform satisfactorily in the diverse applications and distribution systems for which it is intended. The other ASTM standards discussed in this section and referred to by ASTM D1835 provide the detailed systems and procedures required to actually determine the properties specified and the typical uncertainties associated with each of the referenced methods.
