    In this chapter, we learn about varied applications of the standard, some of which extend beyond the scope of CERCLA. We discuss how the user's needs drive the application of the Standard. We review the relationship of the TS, AAI, and Phase I ESAs. We talk about the principles driving the application of the Phase I standard, noting the limited shelf life of the reports. We learn that contractual issues are not included in the scope of E1527.
