    1. Scope

    1.This standard shall define eleven (11) types of unprocessed (raw) bast fibers of a cannabis plant intended for textile applications, or to be spun or weaved into yarn, fabric, and other processed textile fibers. 2.This standard shall provide specifications for each type of unprocessed (raw) bast fiber as well as general quality specifications applicable to all types. 3.This standard is intended to harmonize standards created by ASTM D13 on Textiles with those of ASTM D37 on Cannabis related to the cellulosic-based natural fibers of a cannabis plant that are intended to be used in textile production. 4.This standard shall apply to all cellulosic-based natural fibers of a cannabis plant that are intended to be used in textile production regardless of the type of cannabis plant from which they were derived/obtained.
