As discussed during the November 2020 virtual meeting, the task group proposed minor revisions to the terminology of lath and its associated referenced throughout C926 in response to comments during the affirmative voting of WK 67506. Specifically, the revisions include: A.The addition of (ing) to lath is done to capture synonymous terms lath and lathing. This addition also brings the term in harmony with terminology and the title of ASTM C1063. B.The term installation in the existing terminology is unnecessary and inappropriate. This ballot item removes the word. C.Section 6.1 was revised such that the generic term lath applies to C1063 or C1787 (for metallic or non-metallic, respectively). Without this change, the generic term lath can be mistakenly associated solely with ASTM C1063 which is inappropriate for non metallic lath. D.A footnote was added to Table 4 clarifying that non-metallic lath is not permitted for use on horizontal applications as stipulated in ASTM C1787.
