ASTM WK75392

New Test Method for Surface Electrical Resistance of Leather

    (What is a Work Item?)

Developed by Subcommittee: D31.07 | Committee D31 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Scope

This test method covers the determination of surface electrical resistance and surface electrical resistivity of leather. This test method does not apply to wet blue. This test method applies to leathers that exhibit surface resistivity in the range of 103 to 1012 ohms (per square).

Leather; resistivity; surface resistance; electrode; Touch Screen

This test method is not currently in the ASTM. It is used in military testing to verify touchscreen treatment of leather in gloves. This allows for use of touchscreen technology without removing gloves.

The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
