    1. Scope

    1.1 This standard establishes a universal symbol applicable to all products containing delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (also known as THC) in sufficient quantity or concentration that it is deemed necessary to alert or warn the end user. 1.2 This standard shall apply to all finished products that are intended for consumer (non-industrial) use, which includes topical use, ingestion, inhalation, or other adsorption method on or in the body of a human or animal. 1.3 This standard provides uniformity in identifying potential health and safety hazards associated with exposure to a substance that may cause mind altering effects. 1.4 This standard seeks to ensure visual clarity and consistency, which results in improvement of recognition and comprehension for the end user.
