    (What is a Work Item?)

Developed by Subcommittee: D37.03 | Committee D37 | Contact Staff Manager

    WK71066

    1. Scope

This Test Method defines a procedure for determining the concentration of terpenoids within Cannabis plant materials. This method outlines the analysis of terpenoids by HS-GC-MS and encompasses the entire process from sample preparation to analysis and data processing. Note: Additional analytes may be determined by this method provided performance has been demonstrated and appropriate validation has been performed.

    Keywords

    terpenoids; cannabis; terpenes, chromatography, regulatory

    Rationale

Cannabis products used for human and animal consumption typically require analyses and reporting of terpene identification and concentration within the consumable products. This test method is useful in characterizing terpenoid concentrations in cannabis plant materials utilizing HS-GC-MS for the quantification of the analytes of interest.

The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
