    1. Scope

    This guide provides information on recommended practices for promoting the safe use of table saws, including the following activities: Installation Setup Operation Maintenance This guide is intended to be used by table saw operators as well as employers who utilize table saws in their operations. This guide applies to the use of electric motor-operated, cord-connected or permanently-connected table saws intended for cutting wood and analogous materials, plastics and nonferrous metals except magnesium, used in the following applications: Consumer Industrial Commercial (e.g. governmental, educational or business) This guide does not apply to: Hand-held tools Table saws with an automatic feeding device Table saws fitted with abrasive wheels for cutting or surface finishing Table saws intended to cut ferrous metals and/or magnesium Table saws with more than one spindle such as for a scoring blade Sawmills
