    Rationale

The intent of this project is to add UL2846 to the scope of E84 for fire/smoke testing of pressure plastic pipes tested as pairs up to 4 nominal. This project was predicated on the successful completion of WK57299 (M. Schmida) which moved all other referenced standards from the Appendix X5 (Specific Test Methods and Application Standards) into the scope of E84 to provide guidance to users and code officials as to specific test methods recognized for specific products and applications. WK57299 had 4 negatives that were found to be non-persuasive at the December, 2018 E05 meetings clearing the way for new publication of E84. This revision will be balloted as soon as E84 republishes. Original WK number for this project was WK66232 but was closed by ASTM in their software glitch that closes WKs that miss their 1st ballot deadline which was not the case for this project. WK70200 was reassigned by Marcello when the 1st ballot on this project was submitted by Gary Morgan. On 3/14/20, Gary Morgan, original technical contact, requested this project be transferred to Joseph Zicherman (Berkeley Engineering and Research, Inc) as the new technical contact.
