    Rationale

    Rationale:Currently, the finished conductor RBS calculation and the RBS of the Core wire or Strand are not harmonized. As such, a finished conductor using AW2/AW3 core could be in compliance with the wire standards, but could fail the minimum RBS requirements of the conductor standards. This is particularly true and relevant for ACSS conductors where no rating factor is used for the core strand. As discussed during Oct 2018 B01.06 subcommittee meeting, this standard will be changed to incude a minimum breaking strength requirement based on the minimum tensile and nominal wire diameter for ACSS conductors.
