    1. Scope

    This test method details the analytical procedure for the analysis of cannabis to determine the identity and concentration of individual cannabinoids using liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). This procedure describes the analytical process beginning with sample preparation through cannabinoid quantitation. Cannabinoids that can be analyzed by this test method include delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA), cannabidiol (CBD), cannabidiolic acid (CBDA), cannabinol (CBN) and other minor cannabinoids. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
