    Rationale

    This work item includes four proposed changes to Practice C1074-17, which address comments received on previous ballots. The changes are as follows: 1) Revise the scope statement on units of measurement to permit inch-pound values for expressing strength in developing the strength-maturity relationship. 2) Add a sentence to 6.2 to explain that negative increments of temperature-time factor are not used if the average temperature during any time interval is less than the datum temperature. 3) Revise the procedure in Section 8 for developing the strength-maturity relationship; a higher curing temperature than standard laboratory temperature will be permitted to account for the negative effect of a high early-age curing temperature on the long-term strength. 4) Add wording in Appendix X1 to indicate when measurement of age begins and that that the average test age for mortar cubes is to be recorded to the nearest 0.01 day
