Revision of D4814 - 18a Standard Specification for Automotive Spark-Ignition Engine Fuel

    (What is a Work Item?)

    Active Standard: D4814 - 18a

Developed by Subcommittee: D02.A0.01 | Committee D02 | Contact Staff Manager

    WK64284

    1. Rationale

The Scope of Standard Specification ASTM D4814-18a advises the user that the specification covers the establishment of requirements of liquid automotive fuels for ground vehicles equipped with spark-ignition engines and provides for a variation of the volatility and water tolerance of automotive fuel in accordance with seasonal climatic changes at the locality where the fuel is used. This ballot seeks to resolve any ambiguity in D4814 in regards to the acceptability of a phase separated fuel being introduced introduced into a vehicle or equipment fuel tank.
