    This guide covers premises design, construction and maintenance considerations for snow and ice management for the reduction of pedestrian falls.

    This standard is intended to compliment aspects from F2966, Standard Guide for Snow and Ice Control for Walkways, however, promote the management of snow and ice on walkways through the use of prevention through design strategies. This document is intended to act as a guide during the design, construction and maintenance phases of a project to guide users (engineers, project management/facilities management, contractors, inspectors, risk managers, safety committees, government agencies, snow removal companies) to minimize snow and ice fall hazards on walkway surfaces.

    The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
