    Market demand exists for an engineered solution for grade 100 rebar that is suitable for seismic systems. Market demand also exists for material that meets the seismic design requirements - which are the mechanical properties of A706 - without necessarily meeting the weldability requirements. As strength demand increases, the ability to stay within the chemical boundaries of A706 grade 60 is becoming increasingly difficult. What is being balloted is generally agreed upon by the majority of producers, ACI, and CRSI as the best path for implementing a grade 100 seismic duty concrete reinforcement specification
