Scope 1.1 This specification covers rigid PVC jacketing for thermal and acoustical insulation for pipe and equipment operating at either above or below ambient temperatures and in both indoor and outdoor locations. 1.2 This is a material specification and does not imply that an installed system using these materials will provide the physical properties specified within this document. 1.3 For information about installation of rigid PVC Jacketing, see National Commercial & Industrial Insulation Standards, Published by Midwest Insulation Contractors Association. 1.4 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard. 1.5 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use
