    Revision of F770 - 17 Standard Practice for Ownership, Operation, Maintenance, and Inspection of Amusement Rides and Devices

    (What is a Work Item?)

    Active Standard: F770 - 21

    Developed by Subcommittee: F24.40 | Committee F24 | Contact Staff Manager

    WK59236

    Keywords

    amusement ride; attendant; device; inspection; maintenance; operating procedures; operations; operator; training;;

    Rationale

    During the process to update the format of F770, comments were submitted that we promised would be addressed. Paragraph 5.4 addresses the requirement for rider information. Many owner/operators are utilizing technology, in addition to signs, to convey that information. Most of the language in the paragraph was updated a couple years ago, but there have been additional comments from subcommittee members to update the paragraph heading. Paragraph 5.4.2 addresses signs on machinery rooms and restricted areas. Comments from subcommittee members have suggested cleaning up the redundant and clumsy language to create a more succinct paragraph. Paragraph 7.1.1 addresses the requirement for a daily inspection to be performed. Comments from subcommittee members have suggested that the language is cumbersome.
