    Rationale

At the May 2019 committee meeting, it was decided to add a precision and bias statement as applicable to this standard. The group decided to ballot the standard for revision with minor changes to keep the standard active. If the ISO group can add the drop weight assembly method to ISO 7206-10, then ASTM F2009 can later be withdrawn due to redundancy with the ISO standard. If not, after this approval of the F2009 standard to keep it active, a new work item can be implemented to improve the drop weight methodology. Any comments should be submitted as affirmative with comment such that the standard is not withdrawn as it has been 8 years since its last reapproval. The comments will be discussed as part of the next revision.
