1. Scope
This specification covers requirements and test methods for corrugated double and triple wall fiber-reinforced polypropylene pipe and fittings. The nominal inside diameters covered are 12 to 60 in. [300 to 1500 mm].This specification covers pipe and fittings with an annular corrugated wall and an essentially smooth interior wall (that is, double wall) and pipe and fittings with an annular corrugated wall and an essentially smooth interior and exterior wall (that is, triple wall). Fiber-reinforcement is provided in one or more of the profiles walls. The fiber-reinforcement consists of fiberglass chopped strand, woven roving, non-woven roving and/or multiple layer reinforcement.
Keywords
Fiberglass, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, profile wall pipe, structural wall pipe.Rationale
An effort to modify an existing ASTM standard to incorporate these options proved impossible due to the required revisions. This product is currently being produced and requires a standard for specifiers, manufacturers and users. This standard would permit the use of this product in all major storm and sanitary sewer applications.
The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
