    1. Scope

    1.1This specification covers carbon and alloy steel seamless pipe and mechanical tubing with outside threaded surface. Outside surface of pipe or mechanical tubing is cold-rolled for entire length to produce threaded finished product. Finished product will be used for ground reinforcement in geotechnical applications commonly called hollow bar. Threaded hollow bar segments are couplers together and are drilled into the ground using end drill bit. Simultaneously, cement grout is injected through the inner void of hollow bar. 1.2Hollow bars use raw material from A 519 and A500 with thickness between 0.165-inch (4.2mm) and 0.866-inch (22mm) and nominal outside diameter between 0.965-inch (24.5mm) and 3.97-inch (101 mm). Thread profile type and dimensions after rolling are shown on tables 1 and 2.
