    Revision of A1035 / A1035M - 16b Standard Specification for Deformed and Plain, Low-Carbon, Chromium, Steel Bars for Concrete Reinforcement

    (What is a Work Item?)

    Active Standard: A1035 / A1035M - 19

    Developed by Subcommittee: A01.05 | Committee A01 | Contact Staff Manager

    WK56758

    Keywords

    concrete reinforcement; deformations (protrusions); low-carbon, chromium steel bars;;

    Rationale

    AASHTO specification M334 M/M334 references the use of Alloy Type 1035 CS with a modified chromium content (minimum chromium content of 9.2 %). Engineers using AASHTO MP334 M/M334 in their bridge designs requested that a footnote be added below Table 2, Chemical Compositions of Alloy Type so that for applications where bars must conform to AASHTO M334M/M334, a minimum chromium content of 9.2 % is required for Alloy Type 1035 CS.
