ASTM WK53541

Revision of F2769 - 14 Standard Specification for Polyethylene of Raised Temperature (PE-RT) Plastic Hot and Cold-Water Tubing and Distribution Systems

    (What is a Work Item?)

    Active Standard: F2769 - 16

Developed by Subcommittee: F17.26 | Committee F17 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Rationale

There are eight hot- and cold- potable water, thermoplastic piping standards within F17. Within these standards the excess temperature test requirements vary from, no requirement to a 720 hr requirement at 210F and 150 psig. This project is part of several with the objective of harmonizing excess temperature requirements among the various ASTM and CSA hot- and cold- potable water thermoplastic piping standards. This specific project harmonizes the excess temperature testing requirements of F2769 (PE-RT tubing) with the testing requirements of CSA B137.18.
