ASTM WK44160

Revision of A252 - 10 Standard Specification for Welded and Seamless Steel Pipe Piles

    (What is a Work Item?)

    Active Standard: A252 - 10

Developed by Subcommittee: A01.09 | Committee A01 | Contact Staff Manager

    1. Rationale

Section 12.1 of the specification requires Each length of pipe pile shall be weighed separately.... The allowed variation is +15% and - 5%. Section 12.3 identifies one variation for wall thicknessm i.e. -12.5%. Differences between calculated weight (11.2) and Section 12, Permissible Variations have been demonstrated within Subcommittee A01.09. The revision would identify permissible variation(s) in wall thickness, complement product dimensions and eliminate the need to weigh each length.
