ASTM WK36208

    Revision of C1231 / C1231M - 10a Standard Practice for Use of Unbonded Caps in Determination of Compressive Strength of Hardened Concrete Cylinders

    (What is a Work Item?)

    Active Standard: C1231 / C1231M - 15

    Developed by Subcommittee: C09.61 | Committee C09 | Contact Staff Manager

    WK36208

    Keywords

    cap; compressive strength; concrete; concrete test; elastomeric; neoprene; pad cap; rubber; unbonded cap; Capping concrete materials/applications; Compression testing--cement/concrete; Concrete; Concrete strength; Neoprene; Pads; Rubber; Unbonded capping system;

    Rationale

    The current wording in two sections contain units for perpendicularity that differ from other ASTM standards used for determining the compressive strength of cylindrical concrete specimens. This ballot seeks to standardize the language for measuring 0.5 degrees of perpendicularity. Note to Staff: Upon successful balloting, please reverse units to show SI units first, with English units in brackets, to comply with Committee C09 guidelines.
