    1. Scope

    1.1 Establish criteria for Training and Certification of sUAS Pilots, Instructors, and School Houses. 1.2 This practice defines the knowledge, skills, and abilities sUAS pilots require for the conduct training and flight operations for Small Unmanned Aircraft Sytems (sUAS) in the NAS. 1.3 The Training and Certification of sUAS Pilots, Instructors, and School Houses include areas to cover pilot qualifications, training and proficiency, instructor certification, and sUAS flight training facility operations. 1.4 This document sets forth standards to meet the requirements of proposed SFAR, establish quality training and certification programs, and failitate aviation safety.

    The FAA has requested the development of standards for pilot trainees, Instructors, and Training facilities for the certification of sUAS pilots and ensure pilots and training are in compliance with proposed SFARs for sUAS operations within the NAS.
