1. Scope
The purpose of this specification is to define the minimum test requirements for coolant grade glycerin (neat). This specification includes known minor impurities contained in glycerine and minor impurity requirements based on glycol coolants.

This standard will be used for qulaity control. Glycerin is a potential substitute for glycol in engine coolant formulations. The glycerin task group has agreed that only fully purified glycerin is appropriate for this application.These specifications will prevent grades of glycerin that contain unwated impurities are prevented from entering the coolant market.
