Research Report RR:F02-1032
An interlaboratory study was conducted in 2012 by twelve laboratories. Of the twelve laboratories that participated, seven tested the edge dip option, and five tested the eye dropper method. Each participant analyzed 100 randomly coded samples (50 produced with channels and 50 without channels) for each of five materials. Every analyst reported results to indicate the presence or absence of a channel. The results were tabulated as the number identified correctly, false positives, and false negatives; the details are given in this ASTM Research Report.
