Research Report RR:D09-1021
An interlaboratory test program was conducted to determine the precision that would result from the use of two test methods in ASTM D3032 on Hookup Wire Insulation. The methods are for Crush Resistance and for Cut-Through Resistance. Although these methods are separate procedures, they are similar in nature and were conducted in the same test program. The information in this report will serve as a basic for adding precision statements to the methods and the report will serve as a Research Report available from ASTM Headquarters for people interested in performing these tests. The original test program had five laboratories willing to provide data, but two of the laboratories subsequently withdrew and data was only available from three laboratories. The names and organizations or the participating members are given in Appendix 1.
