Hattie Larson is pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Florida State in chemical engineering and will graduate in August 2011. Hattie is a student member of ASTM International and had the opportunity last summer to be the ASTM sponsored intern in the Washington Internships for Students of Engineering, or WISE program.

Reed Eppelheimer, a graduate student in the School of Packaging at Michigan State University, East Lansing, Mich., was the first recipient of the new ASTM International Graduate Scholarship.
Established in 2009, the ASTM International Graduate Scholarship rewards graduate students who have demonstrated high levels of interest in or involvement with ASTM International standards.

Caitlin M. Augustin, a graduate student at the University of Miami and a student member of ASTM, participated in the 2009 Washington Internships for Students of Engineering program. Caitlin now serves at the Subcommittee Chairman for ASTM Subcommittee E60.95 on Student Liaison and Affairs.

ASTM International Katharine and Bryant Mather Scholarship (2010)

"Involvement in ASTM provides an opportunity to learn technical material from leaders in the industry..."
E. Ivan Diaz-Loya, a senior Ph.D. candidate and research assistant at the Trenchless Technology Center at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La., was the recipient of the 2010 ASTM International Katharine and Bryant Mather Scholarship. This scholarship, sponsored by ASTM International Committee C09 on Concrete and Concrete Aggregates, is presented to students who are pursuing degrees specializing in cement or concrete materials technology, or concrete construction.
