XSB, Inc., a leading provider of big data management solutions to large commercial and government entities, is sponsoring the Semantic Web Developer Challenge. This Challenge is based on PartLink, a solution being developed for the US Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) which will use Semantic Web technology to create a coherent linked data model for all part information in the Defense supply chain. PartLink will contain information about physical and logistics properties of repair and replacement parts bought by the Department of Defense assembled from DLA databases, Government and Industry Specifications, and harvests from manufacturer and distributor Websites. The Semantic Web Developer Challenge calls on participants to build applications based on novel uses for the PartLink data model and offers significant cash prizes for the best applications. The goal of the Challenge is to produce a group of apps that will give the DLA and its supply chain better tools for product sourcing and life cycle management. If you are interested in taking up this challenge, go to https://partlink.xsb.com and join XSB in building the Industrial Semantic Web.
