The 17th International Symposium on Zirconium in the Nuclear Industry will be held February 3-7, 2013. Sponsored by ASTM Committee B10 on Reactive and Refractory Metals and Alloys, the symposium will be held at the Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces in Hyderabad, India.
Objective
The purpose of the symposium is to provide a forum for exchanging new information on the fabrication, testing, development,
and characterization of both traditional and new zirconium-based materials in the nuclear industry, including materials
performance during normal, transient, and accident conditions as well as materials behavior during intermediate and long-term
storage conditions. Of particular interest are studies that focus on identifying and understanding the mechanism of zirconium-
based materials behavior.
The language of the symposium will be English.

Online registration is open and closes January 30. The fees to attend this symposium are listed below.
Students – A student's fee is waived, provided that he/she is a full-time student and is not employed full time. After registering online, the student must check in at the ASTM Registration Desk on site and present his/her student ID. Please note that Student registration is no longer available online or on-site as the maximum number of student slots available has reached capacity.
All attendees, including presenters and ASTM members, are urged to register online for this event so that space requirements can be accommodated. If you do not register online by the closing date, then you must register upon arrival at the symposium. All attendees must check in at the ASTM registration desk upon arrival at symposium.
Cancellations
A refund of the symposium fee will be honored only if requested at least 7 business days prior to the symposium. To cancel

Symposium attendees interested in receiving 2.1 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) should complete a CEU application form at the adjournment of the symposium, and then submit it to the ASTM staff member on site. A certificate will be sent to the attendee approximately 4 to 6 weeks after the symposium.

The symposium will be held at the Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces in Hyderabad India located at Road No 1, 500034 Hyderabad, India. A block of rooms have been reserved under ASTM for
the 17th International Symposium on Zirconium in the Nuclear Industry. The hotel offers three different rooming sections:
- Taj Krishna,
- Taj Deccan, and the
- Taj Banjara.
You will be able to make your selection when making your

The group rate will be honored until the ASTM block is full but no later than December 20, 2012. You may be
charged a higher rate if reservations are received after the cut-off date or when the block is full.
APPLICATION FOR VISA
If you have not yet applied for your visa, which India requires in addition to a passport, please do so immediately.
It is important that you know your country of origin's visa application requirements. Dr. Saibaba is working in India with the Indian Government to send invitation letters to attendees. Most attendees will require a Conference visa.

- Sunday, February 3, 2013 – Visit to Ramoji Film City (Leaving Hotel Taj Krishna at 14:30 hrs). After the visit, cultural programme by Chennai Dance Troupe, followed by Dinner with Cocktails; Leave Ramoji Film City at 22:00 hrs for Taj Krishna. Sponsoring Company: Dr. R.K. Tours
Additional site seeing tours are being offered, but are not officially organized by the ASTM Symposium sub-committee. The tour information is provided to help the interested symposium delegates who should directly deal with the listed travel agent known to Anand Garde. The actual cost of the tour will depend on the currency exchange rate prevailing at the time of booking. For rough estimate the exchange rate is about 1 US $=50 Indian Rupees.
