 ABOUT THE EVENT

A Workshop on the Adjusted Compliance Ratio (ACR) Technique for Characterizing Fatigue Crack Closure, sponsored by ASTM Committee E08 on Fatigue and Fracture and its Subcommittee E08.06 on Crack Growth Behavior, will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2009, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. The workshop will be held at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia, in conjunction with the November 9-12, 2009 standards development meetings of Committee E08.

The ACR technique is being used by an increasing number of industries involved with the experimental characterization of fatigue crack growth. The objectives of this half-day workshop are: to increase awareness of the ACR technique; and to provide users and potential users with an overview of current research regarding the use of the technique, to enable a better understanding of its strengths and weaknesses.
