Meetings / Hotel and Meeting Information
D02J000 Aviation Fuels
TO: Members of D02.J on Aviation Fuels Subcommittee D02.J on Aviation Fuels has scheduled its next meeting for May 6 to May 9, 2013 in Berlin, Germany at the Intercontinental Hotel in conjunction with the IATA Technical Fuels Group (TFG). Subcommittee J is a major specification and standards (test methods and practices) group solely dedicated to aviation fuels for gas turbines and piston engines. TFG is an aviation industry forum bringing together airlines and their strategic partners to discuss aviation fuel quality standards, supply problems and solutions, airport fuel supply including refinery to airport transportation systems, their improvements and maintenance and above all in these areas, Industrial Safety. Doing a combined meeting gives ASTM Members a chance to see what happens to fuels after they leave the refinery and the attention paid to quality and safety of transport and delivery, and problems incurred. The TFG will benefit from an understanding of those actions taken to secure and maintain product quality of the fuel itself, progress on developing fuel sources that are not typical bulk petroleum feed-stocks, the many feedstock sources and variety of process methods being studied and what new aviation fuel additives are being offered for approval. Provided in the link above is the meeting schedule. Task Force meetings have not been scheduled to meet in Berlin. Task Forces are encouraged to utilize the services of ASTM in holding conference calls or Virtual (WebEx) meetings.
