Work Item: ASTM WK38233 - New Test Method for Dirt Pick-up Resistance for the films of Architectural Paints and Stains

Developed by Subcommittee: D01.42 | Committee D01 Home | Contact Staff Manager

1. Scope

Create a uniform test method complete with a procedure that contains a standard dirt formulation. Procedure for lab material to illustrate dirt repellent of a film and wash-ability with specifications. Overall to justify on a scale how dirt repellent is a film or how does the material in the material in the film help improve a dirt repellent. The impetus behind developing a standard test method of this nature is to standardize the architectural coating market by combining joint collaborations and already existing in-house test methods. Coatings descriptions host details of dirt repellency. But how do these quantify against other manufacturers and/or suppliers who would like to improve dirt repellency.
